The Governor of the Autonomous Okrug of Yamal-Nenets (Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug) Dmitry Artyukhov has expressed his condolences to the parents of those killed in the fire in the town of Labytnangi, reports Yamal-Media.
“That night a terrible tragedy happened in Labytnangi – five people died in the fire. I express my sincere condolences to the relatives of one of the victims. there are no words that can describe your pain. All Yamal is crying with you, ”said the head of the region.
On Monday evening, an apartment building in the city caught fire, by the time rescuers arrived, the entire roof of the building over an area of 500 “squares” was on fire, RIA Novosti reports details of the building. According to one of the versions, the fire occurred due to careless handling of the fire while smoking, the agency said.
The Labytnangi administration has organized a collection point for victims of the fire, reports Sever-Press. It should be noted that 37 people were recorded in the burnt down house, including five minors. They need basic necessities, bedding, dishes and appliances. Additionally, children must be picked up from school by September 1, the newspaper writes.
