Investigators arrested the head doctor of a hospital in the capital of North Ossetia, where on Monday evening nine patients died from a malfunction of the oxygen system, the press service told RIA Novosti Republican Department of Inquiry of the Commission survey (CI).
It is clarified that the department will request the arrest of the chief medical officer. According to the official website of the hospital, this post is occupied by Vladimir Pliev. According to the North Ossetia Ministry of Health, the 58-year-old doctor took over the post in March of this year.
On the eve of the Republican Clinical Emergencies Hospital in Vladikavkaz, there was a breakthrough of a pipe providing oxygen to the intensive care unit, where the patients were under artificial ventilation. Nine people were killed. Two other patients died the next day; one of these two deaths is not associated with the accident.
Anesthesiologists from the Federal Center for Disaster Medicine of the Ministry of Health and specialists from Roszdravnadzor were sent to Vladikavkaz. The hospital oxygen supply was restored, at night gas-powered cars from Kabardino-Balkaria, Stavropol Territory and Krasnodar arrived in the republic, another ton of gas came to the republic. oxygen was dispatched from the airfield of the 4th Air Force and Southern Military District Air Defense.
