In Udmurtia, in connection with the release of chlorine at stations Izhevsk sewage treatment plant, a criminal case has been opened for violating the rules for the movement of environmentally hazardous substances and waste, reports SUSK for the region.
On Friday evening, in one of the districts of Izhevsk, a release of chlorine was recorded, residents were asked to leave a potentially dangerous area or to make a complete waterproofing of the premises. By nightfall, the crash was completely ruled out.
& # 34; Investigative bodies of the Investigative Commission of Russia in the Udmurt Republic have opened criminal proceedings on the grounds of a felony under Part 1 of the Criminal Code. art. 247 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of the rules of movement of substances and wastes dangerous for the environment) & # 34;, – said the Ministry.
According to the investigation, officials at the Izhvodokanal water treatment plant broke the rules when using chlorine, which resulted in its release to the atmosphere.
In the course of the investigation of a criminal case, documents of interest to the investigation were seized. Interviews of employees and management are carried out, steps are taken to clarify all the circumstances of the incident.
It is noted that the consequences of the emergency have now been eliminated, there is no threat to the population.
